Why should I learn first aid ?

First Aid can be conducted by anyone and learning simple first aid skills can save a life. 52% of out of hospital cardiac arrests in 2021 was witnessed by a bystander, would you know what to do to increase their chances of survival ?

There is also First Aid for Mental Health. One in Four people will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime.

First Aid for mental health is the initial support provided to a person experiencing a mental health problem until professional help is received or until the crisis is resolved.

About Me

I completed 30 years as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service and during that time I was an officer working on the streets of London. I am currently a ‘GoodSAM’ First Responder, responding to 999 first aid calls, prior to arrival of the Ambulance Service. As a consequence, I have a wealth of knowledge and experiences in administering and teaching first aid.

During my police service, I obtained considerable experience in dealing with children and vulnerable adults safeguarding issues, which I wish to pass onto you.

As a qualified First Aid & First Aid for Mental Health instructor with NUCO Training with a Level 3 award in education and training, this allows me to teach a range of Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examination Regulations) and SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) first aid qualifications.

I also teach Level 1 Award in awareness of Safeguarding and Level 3 award in Principles Safeguarding & Protecting children, young people or vulnerable adults. All of the courses meets the requirements of the Health & Safety Executive.

I am insured and have enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) clearance.

My aim is to deliver interesting and enjoyable but potentially life saving skills, resulting in you successfully achieving nationally accredited qualifications.
