Why should I learn first aid ?

First Aid can be conducted by anyone and learning simple first aid skills can save a life. There are more than 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests each year in the UK, with a survival rate of less than 1 in 10. Would you know what to do to increase their chances of survival?

There is also First Aid for Mental Health. One in Four people will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime.

First Aid for mental health is the initial support provided to a person experiencing a mental health challenge until professional assistance is received or until the crisis is resolved.

About Me

Over the course of 30 years as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service, I was an officer working on the streets of London and administered first aid on many occasions. I am currently a ‘GoodSAM’ First Responder, responding to 999 first aid calls, prior to the arrival of the Ambulance Service. As a consequence, I have a wealth of knowledge and experiences in administering and teaching first aid.

Furthermore, I have extensive experience in addressing safeguarding concerns involving children and vulnerable adults, which I am eager to share with you.

As a qualified First Aid & First Aid for Mental Health instructor with a Level 3 award in education and training, I possess the expertise to impart a diverse range of Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examination Regulations) and SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority)  qualifications.

I also teach Level 1 Award in awareness of Safeguarding and Level 3 award in principles safeguarding & protecting children, young people or vulnerable adults. All of the courses adhere to the requirements of the Health & Safety Executive.

I am insured and have enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) clearance, ensuring your safety & security.
