Safeguarding,

Safeguarding is a term to describe how we can protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse and neglect

Safeguarding children & young adult people includes:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment.

  • Preventing impairment of children’s health or development.

  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Safeguarding vulnerable adults includes:

  • Protecting their rights to live safely, free from abuse and neglect.

  • Ensuring people and organisations work together to prevent the risk of abuse or neglect.

About Me

As a retired police officer with 30 years of service, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with ’Safeguarding’ issues which I wish to pass onto you to protect children & vulnerable adults.

Why should I take a safeguarding course?

Safeguarding can be conducted by any person. Sadly abuse is a too common occurrence across most cultures, with race, religion, age, gender, or social background being no barrier.

This course is for you if you have any contact with children or vulnerable adults in any capacity, whether through work, voluntary or charity work, an organisation that you may be affiliated too (sports club, hospitality etc.)  or you simply wish to expand your awareness & knowledge in safeguarding, thus enabling you to potentially protect a child or vulnerable adult from abuse and neglect.
